5 Quick Apply Full-time Temporary 8 hours ago Full Job Description Oyster Harbors Club--Day Camp Manager Job Description Oyster Harbors Club is a private Club located on Grand Island in Osterville, MA (Cape Cod).
The Camp has been in existence for 60 years and welcomes Members' children and grandchildren ages 4-12.
The camp operates Monday thru Friday 8:
30 am -3:
30 pm with some evening activities throughout the summer (end of June-late August).
In addition to the Camp, there are two programs offered for older children, Island, ages 9-13, and Outing, ages 10-15) Clubs.
As Camp Manager, you will be an active participant in all camp activities, and will assist the Camp Director with a variety of daily tasks, all with the goal of creating a memorable and meaningful camp experience for our campers.
The Camp Manager supports the Camp Director in the execution of all camp programs all the while interacting with our campers throughout the entire day.
As you assist with the management of counselors, campers, their families, club logistics, and communications to the membership.
Camp Manager Qualities Ability to help children grow in character, experiences and insights Knowledge in the area of program planning and creativity Ability to guard the health and well-being of campers at all times Capable of sustaining energy for participation in a full day's worth of activities Ability to be flexible and adaptable Prior experience working with children in a leadership position or day camp role Comfortable with multi-tasking and making decisions in a leadership position Effective communication skills and public speaking ability Enthusiastic, Responsible, Dependable, Consistent, Level-Headed, Flexible, and Calm in all situations Experience with problem solving in a fast-paced working environment CPR/First Aid Certified OR willing to become certified before the summer begins Camp Manager Responsibilities Work with group of campers and provide a fun, safe and exciting camp experience Provide supervision and training of counselors in a supportive manner at the beginning of and throughout the summer Assist Director in program planning, camper management and day-to-day camp logistics Manage the communications through the Club Website and weekly Newsletter Oversee the programming for older youth activities, Island and Outing Clubs Complete and submit daily and weekly administrative tasks electronically Greet families and campers upon arrival and help orientate them to camp Establish rules with campers and staff and review emergency procedures Manage parent expectations by knowing your campers and conversing with parents at pick-up and drop-off times Assist Director in managing any non-staff issues that may arise including, but not limited to, camper behavior issues, parent complaints, etc.
Works with the Camp Director and Youth Activities Committee to develop and enhance programming Serves as Acting Director when Camp Director is off site Complete other duties, as assigned Excellent weekly salary and year-end bonus.
